You and your train, ready for a long journey ahead. The birds are singing, the sun rises on the horizon. Everything feels perfect... Until it hits you: you forgot to refuel. With the power to have left, you won't even make it a third of the way.

Thankfully, nature offers everything you might need: COAL. Wait… is that a lost traveler? Maybe they’ll lend a hand if you pick them up. And—is that a zombie!?

Head deep into the forest and scavenge whatever you can to power your train toward its destination. In this exploration game with roguelike elements, staying powered is everything. Keep moving, and you’ll uncover resources, allies, passengers... and perhaps even the undead. 

KENNEY Game Jam Notes

This game was made by me alone for the Kenney Game Jam 2025, held from July 18 to July 20. All assets used were from Kenney and KayKit. For the logo and background illustrations, I teamed up with Paloma (@corny_57). Big thanks to her for that part.

The version submitted for this jam is 0.2.0. The game isn’t as complete as I’d like it to be. There are two things to keep in mind. If you haven’t played the game yet, I recommend trying it at least once before reading further.

• Police: The policeman isn’t implemented yet, so he doesn’t provide any benefits.
• Gold: Gold doesn’t have any use in this version. The idea was to add a shop during the run where you could buy train upgrades (like more space for passengers or better coal efficiency). This feature isn’t in version 0.2.0.

I plan to expand the game with more resources and mechanics that can change how a run plays out. Still, I’m leaving this text as it is, so anyone (including myself) can revisit the jam version. If you’re reading this in the future, hopefully, the game has come a long way!
